Description: PETER RABBIT AND ME, Aurand Harrisís adaptation of Beatrix Potterís beloved "Tale of Peter Rabbit," introduces us to young Beatrix Potter in her London home in 1880. We get a glimpse of her own home life with her father, brother, and governess, and see her imagination in action as she creates the famous fictional characters that populate her stories for children. Beatrix grows lonely when her brother Bertrum is sent away to school, and, to pass the time, she writes stories for him, including the "Tale of Peter Rabbit." Suddenly, all the people in Beatrixís life are transformed into the characters in her story ñ Peter; his brothers and sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail; their mother Mrs. Rabbit; Mr. McGregor, in whose garden Peter becomes hopelessly lost; and the birds and the mouse who help Peter eventually find his way home.
